1.    What were the circumstances that led slaves to rebel? Was it merely harsh treatment or were there other types of inspiration? What do these testimonies from slaves tell us about the nature of the master/slave relationship on a daily basis? What kind of primary source is it?

5.    What is the primary source’s tone? What words and phrases (and/or scenes and visual perspectives) convey it?
