Capital Area Food Bank Reflection Paper

Thank you to all the students who were able to attend Service Learning Site Visit 1 at the Capital Area Food Bank. You must now complete a 2-page reflection paper using the following guidelines.

Reflection Paper Guidelines:

2 pages, double-spaced, 12 inch font, Times New Roman (must include a separate title page).

Discuss the agency mission, needs, and description of service learning project.

Discuss how the service learning project connects to the reading assignments discussed in this course (Hint: Chapter 8: Community-Based Services from Long-Term Care: Managing Across the Continuum 4th Edition ).

Discuss your feelings, thoughts, and perceptions of the service learning project.  Do you have any final takeaways, conclusions, or recommendations?

Note:  A reflection paper is your opportunity to your thoughts and analysis to what you have read and experienced.  A reflection paper is meant to illustrate your understanding of the material and how it affects your ideas and possible practice in the future.  Use your critical thinking competency skills to develop a good reflection paper.  Remember, there is a major difference in journal writing and “diary” writing.  Both can be used to express your feelings, but in an academic setting journal writing is used to connect your feelings back to stated learning principle or objective of the course.  Use the reflection paper as a journal writing exercise.  To learn more about a framework for critical thinking skills, use the following model:)
