Post Clinical Reflection

Objectives:

1. Maintain an attitude of respect for others, even those with differing points of view or different backgrounds.

1. Demonstrate an attempt to gain understanding of another's position and reasoning when they differ from that of the healthcare professional.

1. Demonstrate a belief in the intrinsic worth of others.

1. Demonstrate a willingness to continually self-observe.

1. Exhibit a sensitivity to the needs of others and respond in a professional and ethical manner.

In reviewing your experience pertaining to clinical, reflect on your pre-clinical perceptions about mental health patients, and evaluate how different (if so) your perceptions are after your experience in the clinical setting. Write a paper in which you:

1) Analyze both positive and negative experiences you were expecting before your clinical rotation and how they are either the same or different since your clinical experience.

2) List what methods you used to change your expectations of the clinical rotation experience.

3) List three concepts you learned from this clinical rotation and how they will better aid you as a nurse caring for a mentally ill patient.

Your paper should be at least 4 pages long and should follow APA format. A title page is required, which is not included in the paper length. You do not need references or a reference page for this assignment. You will be graded according to the rubric provided.
