N103: APA PAPER AND PEER TO PEER PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS

Verve College Nursing 103 Students will be responsible for submitting an APA formatted paper and PowerPoint presentation on one assigned concept during the semester.

APA Paper Requirements

· The paper will be a minimum of five pages (excluding Title Page, Abstract, and References)

· The paper will be divided as follows:

1. a)  Title Page

2. b)  Abstract

3. c)  What is specific concept (page one)

4. d)  Nursing assessments for specific concept (page two)

5. e)  Patient problems/nursing diagnoses related to specific concept (page three)

6. f)  Specific, realistic, and measurable goals attributed to patient care of specific concept (page four)

7. g)  Nursing interventions for patient care of specific concept (page five)

8. h)  References

· The paper will demonstrate student’s ability of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure when writing a professional paper

· The paper will validate student’s understanding of specific concept and its application to nursing practice

PEER TO PEER PRESENTATION

The PowerPoint presentation will contain 12 slides. The first slide will be the title slide and include: Title of presentation, Student’s full name, Date of presentation.

• Slides two through eleven will be bullet pointed, NOT copied and pasted from the paper and contain specific information as follows:

1. a)  Slide two: What is specific concept/DISEASE/DISORDER

2. b)  Slide three: Why specific concept is important in-patient care

3. c)  Slide four: Nursing assessments for specific concept

4. d)  Slide five: Patient problems/nursing diagnoses related to specific concept

5. e)  Slide six: Specific, realistic, and measurable goals attributed to patient care of specific concept

6. f)  Slide seven: Nursing interventions for patient care of specific concept

7. g)  Slide eight: Important patient/family teaching for specific concept

8. h)  Slide nine: Expected and unexpected outcomes regarding specific concept

9. i)  Slide ten: Necessary documentation of patient care for specific concept

10. j)  Slide eleven: Important information for SBAR regarding specific concept

· Slide twelve (last slide) will contain references used for PowerPoint in APA format

· The PowerPoint presentation will demonstrate student’s knowledge of specific concept

· The PowerPoint presentation will exemplify student’s ability related to creativity, presentation of material, as well as grammatical, spelling, and punctuation aptitude
