Can Quality And Inequality Co-Exist?

 Discussion Board

Programs frequently claim to provide “high quality” services, and it’s quite common today for states to implement quality rating systems to help ensure that early childhood services meet high standards. Despite these good efforts, children from diverse groups may experience programming that does not provide them with the same opportunities as the others.
In this module’s discussion, think about and respond to the following questions:

  • Can quality and inequality both exist? Therefore, are children from diverse backgrounds afforded the same opportunities to learn and succeed as children from the dominant groups?
  • With respect to the role of diversity and education program success, do you think a child’s success in the education setting is impacted by diversity? Why or why not?

Please make your initial post by midweek, and respond to at least one other student’s post by the end of the week. Please check the Course Calendar for specific due dates.
