In this section, you will learn about treatment in forensic settings; however, even when these services are available, there are additional barriers to treatment. As you read these articles, think about the barriers from the offenders perspective, and how they may influence the implementation of mental health programming in a forensic setting.

Assignment
This week, you will begin work on your Signature Assignment. Locate three articles from peer-reviewed journals that discuss the group of offenders you selected in your Week 1 assignment. You will select one of those articles and complete a discussion post.
The discussion post you will prepare will be for the NCU Psychology, Commons to share with your fellow students. In this post, you will:
- Describe the research study, including the demographics of the study participants as a whole and also as their demographics within forensic settings
- Indicate assessment issues for the group
- Identify treatment issues for the group
Please include any other information that you believe is important in discussing your group as a whole that you may wish to integrate into your Signature Assignment later.
